THE SUCCESS OF CHISOMO CHOWE

Today we celebrate Chisomo Chowe, a Bricklaying graduate from Naminjiwa Community Technical College in Phalombe.
Hard work and determination describe him best. After completing his secondary school education, he enrolled at Naminjiwa Community Technical College in 2019. He planned to study Tailoring and Fashion Designing but things changed when he was selected to pursue Bricklaying.

"Determined to still succeed, i embraced this new trade, immersed myself into knowing it, studied up to level 2 and graduated in 2020," he said.
During his practical training, he worked with a Chinese company named Howlong where he gained the much-needed hands-on experience in his career.

"This was a test of my knowledge and skills gained from college and this experience sharpened my skills as a Bricklayer as I was able to do in real-time things I learnt at my college," he said.

Through a start-up tools distribution exercise implemented by TEVETA, Chisomo was given a headstart in polishing his skills further.
Throughout the years, Chisomo has been engaged in various works such as working at Sakata Community Skills Development Centre in Zomba and school projects in his area on top of customer projects.

In a bid to challenge himself, Chisomo established Ste-cko, a construction company based in Mangochi, is in partnership with this brother.
"It has been an enlightening journey full of lessons. Growing up I never thought of establishing my own business but here I am and I have no regrets," Chisomo said.

Chisomo encourages his fellow youth to be focused, determined and aim higher as success is attained after sacrifice.
