Hands that can measure, stitch, join, wire and build. Hands that have trained for four months under TEVETA’s Informal Apprenticeship Programme at Kindle Orphan Outreach Centre in Salima.

"Madolo amavala ma work suit.
Madolo amalemba ntchito anzawo.
Madolo salandila salary imodzi pa mwezi," chanted Ishmael Mkolongo on behalf of the graduates, a bold declaration that these 88 young men and 51 young women are stepping out not just to look for jobs, but to create them.

Representing TEVETA Board, Mr. Gilbert Chilinde reminded the gathering of the bigger picture:
“The certificate you are receiving today is evidence that you are now skilled artisans in your chosen areas. Go and use the same to start your own enterprises, secure jobs and improve your skills.”

From Carpentry and Joinery to Tailoring and Fashion Design, Bricklaying and Solar Photovoltaic; these graduates are equipped with practical skills for the local market.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of KINDLE Orphan Outreach, Mr Joseph Kandiyesa expressed gratitude to TEVETA for its continued support in ensuring that young people acquire the necessary skills hence aligned with their organisation’s mandate. He noted that this support is playing a significant role in empowering many youths within communities to build sustainable livelihoods.

T/A Karonga on his sentiments reminded the graduates to be exemplary in their conduct as they step into industry as good representatives of his community.
