GOVERNMENT PRIORITISES COMMUNITY TECHNICAL COLLEGES AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

President Arthur Peter Muntharika has highlighted that his Government will prioritise community technical colleges and resume the completion of colleges that were previously abandoned, a decisive step toward expanding access to skills development and technical training across Malawi.

In his State of the National Address delivered today at the opening of the 2nd Meeting of the 52nd Session Parliament, the President underscored the crucial role of skills development in driving employment, productivity, and economic growth.

The address further reaffirmed Government’s commitment to supporting youth employment pathways through the continued implementation of the Graduate Internship Programme, helping young graduates transition into the world of work.

Complementing these measures, the Government announced the introduction of annual soft loans for the youth in every constituency beginning the 2026/27 financial year empowering young people to pursue entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-employment.
